Using Along in Canvas

You can have Along integrated into your courses on Canvas.

If you are a Canvas IT administrator, you can reach out to support@along.org for instructions for installing the Along LTI in Canvas.

Find Along in your Canvas course

  1. Navigate to your course in Canvas.
  2. In your Canvas course, you can find Along on the left and the right navigation bar of the course Home page.

  3. Open Along by clicking on either of these.

Connect your Along account to Canvas

The first time you use Along in Canvas, you’ll be prompted to connect your account.

  1. Click Connect my account.
  2. Log into Along or Sign up for an Along account.

You’re ready to ask questions and engage with students.

Note: Linking your Along account to Canvas creates a new class named “Canvas - [Class Name],” based on your Canvas course name. If you previously created a class with the same [class name] (e.g., in Fall 2024), “Canvas - [Class Name]” is the synced version.

Look at your Canvas Along classes on Students tab

  1. Click the Students tab to see your class roster.

Canvas rostered Along classes will have the Canvas logo in place of a six-digit Class code.

  4. Students log into or create an Along account with their school email.
  5. Students will then see your Along class and any questions you have sent them in this class.
