How do I sign in to Along for the first time?

When you first sign in to Along, you will be taken through our guided onboarding. Educators and students must use their G Suite for Education school email addresses or a Microsoft Office 365 email for schools and students (One Drive).

Sign Up

  1. Open a supported browser on your computer.
    • While the Along educator experience is optimized for desktop, If you're using a mobile device, please use Chrome or Safari as your browser.

  2. Go to our website and select Sign up for free. You can also create a free account here.

  3. You will have the option to select Student or Educator. Click Educator to continue signing up.

  4. Create a free educator account and sign up using a G Suite for Education school email address or a Microsoft Office 365 email for schools and students (One Drive).

  5. Complete the three steps to start using Along with your students.

Set up your account

    1. Click Set up your account and complete the 3 steps to activate your account: Give us a few more details, Engage school leaders, and Notify guardians.

    2. Click OK next to give us a few more details.
    3. Enter your Display Name, School Name, and agree to our User Agreement, Privacy Policy, and Code of Conduct. Click Next.

    4. Add your school leader's email address and share information about Along with your team. Click Next.

    5. Notify guardians and download our guardian consent forms to use Along with your students.

Create a question to welcome students

  1. Welcome your students with a question. Click Pick question.

  2. Click a welcome question or create your own question to get started.

  3. Review the suggested talking points on the right-hand side and record a video or audio message. While this step is optional, recording a video or audio message will help you better engage with your student(s) and give them additional context about the prompt. If you do not wish to record a video or audio message, select Create welcome question as text only.
    • Remember to give browser permissions to grant Along access to your camera and microphone.

  4. After you are done recording, click Next.

Invite Students

Now it's time to welcome your students in Along! 

  1. Click Welcome students.

  2. Click Copy to copy the welcome link and share it with your students. If you're not ready to invite students, click Skip.

  3. Success! Your account is ready! As soon as students click the link and sign in, they'll show up under Students and can start answering your question.
